Vienna/New Delhi – 96 tons of Indian rice contaminated with residues of several harmful pesticides were withdrawn from circulation in Vienna in recent days. This is according to reports from several media outlets on Wednesday. According to these reports, the rice was discovered during an inspection by food inspectors at a wholesale company in Vienna. Alexander Hengl from the city of Vienna’s market office confirmed the case.The trader had submitted a laboratory report from the Indian manufacturer to comply with EU regulations, stating that the rice was of impeccable quality.
